The Hamilton Book Tag

As someone who’s slightly obsessed with Hamilton (okay, maybe a little bit more than slightly. I hold full conversations in Hamilton quotes), when I saw this book tag floating around the internet, I knew I just had to jump on board.

This tag was originally created by Maureen, and if you’re interested in doing this tag, I tag you! This was so much fun to do – almost as fun as listening to the Hamilton album on repeat for six months straight 😂

Anyway, let’s get started!

Nothing says ‘underdog protagonist’ like Gale in The Hunger Games. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – he should have ended up with Katniss. I ship them so hard.

Voldemort! I mean, how many times does he try and kill Harry? I hate him, but you have to admire his determination 😂

I just couldn’t get to sleep without knowing how All The Bright Places ended. It was beautiful and heartbreaking and compelling, and I’m tearing up a little just thinking about it now. Sacrificing my sleep for this gorgeous novel was 110% worth it.

Eleanor and Park

Eleanor! She’s beautiful and strong and resilient, and I honestly admire her so much.

How sweet is this illustration by LoquaciousLiterature on Tumblr 😍

Carry On

Definitely Baz from Carry On! Not only is he the world’s sassiest vampire, the dynamic between him and Simon is so great.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Scorpius and Albus from The Cursed Child! Need I say any more?

City of Bones

Magnus and Alec! Favourite romance ever.

While I’m not a MASSIVE fan of the TV series, I do adore the romance between Mangus and Alec and how it’s portrayed.

Zeroes book

This one! It follows the lives of six different teenagers with superpowers, and it’s epic. I recently read the second book in the series, Swarm, and I loved it even more than the first one!

THREE AUTHORS wrote the Zeroes series, so in my mind the writing process went something like this: everyone crowding around one person as they wrote their chapter 😂

Allegiant - Veronica Roth

No spoilers, but OH MY GOD. PLEASE. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. I’m still not over that death. It ruined the whole book for me. No wonder they’re probably not even going to make the last film.

14 books or something? Yeah, maybe the House of Night series is a little too long. Just a thought. But you know, I did buy all of those books. I swear they take up an entire shelf on my bookshelf. #regrets

Every Breath by Ellie Marney

Um, EXCUSE ME. WHERE IS THE SPIN OFF SERIES FOR EVERY BREATH?! That series was phenomenal and I just want more! Now that’s a series I’d be happy to buy 14 books for. Ah, Rachel and James. I love them to pieces.

This Savage Song

If you haven’t read This Savage Song by V.E. Schwab, you need to get onto that! I can’t believe I haven’t read any of her books before this one, but I’m definitely going to change that. I have all her other ones sitting on my TBR!

I know there’s a lot of mixed opinions about this series, but to be honest, I loved it. I think I binge-read all the books in a week!

Let’s just pretend this movie never happened, shall we? 😂

I tried to read this book when the movie was coming out, but I just never really finished it. I was already late to reading it back then, but guess what, I still haven’t finished the series. Whoops.

This was me, trying to get into The Maze Runner fandom before the first movie came out. Yeah, it didn’t happen.

I just got bored in the middle of this one and put it down and haven’t picked it up again! It’s sad because I liked the first book but this one didn’t grab me as much.

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

Can I just live on campus with Cath? Please? I feel like we’d really get along. And I mean, Fangirl is my spirit animal.

And I need someone like Levi in my life 😍

I’m not going to spoil anything for those of you who haven’t read Gemina yet, but for those of you that have, YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT. It was amazing. Mind. Blown.

THAT TWIST THO. While a lot of people said they saw what was coming, I had no idea. My mind was blown. It was the best. I still can’t get over it.

The Flywheel

You guys, The Flywheel is one of my all-time favourite #LoveOzYA books and y’all really need to get onto it! It’s such a sweet novel and the romance is so swoon-worthy.

The competition in Panic was really fun to read about.

I really loved the way this series ended. I felt like everything ended neatly, but not in the way that makes you cringe, and I loved the way the relationships ended up.

I think all of us can agree that this is a series that will live on until the world we know is reduced to dust. Harry Potter will never be forgotten, and I’m so lucky to have been around when the books were coming out.

Let's Talk

What would some of your answers be for these prompts? What book or series do you think will live on throughout history? Did you want Katniss to end up with Gale or Peeta? Have you read any books by V.E. Schwab? But the most important question of all: Do you like Hamilton? If so, I love you. If not, or if you haven’t heard of it, GURL, YOU GOTTA GET ONTO THAT! I’ll leave some helpful links down below for your enjoyment. You’re welcome 😉

  1. I feel like you have all my favourite books on here! Rainbow Rowell is one of my all time favourite authors, so I can agree with all the books of hers you mentioned 🙂 I really liked Bloodlines and VA too! Oh, and Peeta can get out, Gale all the way. Now I just need to start listening to Hamilton…
