Shades of Earth – book review

shades of earth

Shades of Earth is the third and final book in the Across the Universe series by Beth Revis.

Amy and Elder have finally left the confined walls of Godspeed. Amy and Elder, along with two thirds of the population of Godspeed, have taken the shuttle down to the brand-new world below – Centauri-Earth. They’re ready to build a new life – a life that Amy has waited hundreds of years for. But this new Earth isn’t quite what Amy had been hoping for…

Not even until the shuttle lands on Centauri-Earth do Amy and Elder start facing problems. It seems that something – or someone – doesn’t want these new people on their planet. But Amy and Elder aren’t going anywhere. Godspeed has traveled through space for hundreds of years and they’re determined to make this planet theirs. Amy and Elder must race to uncover who or what else is out there before they wipe out the entire population, along with any hope of building a future on this planet.

As each secret is unraveled, Elder and Amy must make a heart-breaking decision about the future of the planet… and their future together. But they have to work things out, otherwise all they have sacrificed will be for nothing…

I loved reading this book! It was really absorbing and it entwined me into the lives of Elder and Amy from the very beginning. This book was again filled with twists and turns, making it a suspenseful and enjoyable read. I feel like this series has just gotten better and better as the books have progressed. Piece by piece, the truth is uncovered and all questions are answered by the end. I’m happy how things turned out. I got all the answers I wanted and everything came together smoothly. Amy and Elder were determined to overcome every challenge and this really showed how much they’ve grown since Across the Universe. I think Shades of Earth was the perfect end to the series, although I’m sad to see the tales of Elder and Amy end. I loved Shades of Earth by Beth Revis and I’d give it a score of 8.5 out of 10. I’ll miss you, Amy and Elder!
