A Million Suns – book review

A Million Suns

A Million Suns is the second book in the riveting Across the Universe trilogy series by Beth Revis.

It’s been three months since Amy was unplugged and a lot has changed on Godspeed since then. Elder has assumed leadership of the ship and is determined to keep no more secrets from the citizens upon Godspeed. No more lies.

As the people of Godspeed learn the secrets that have been hidden from them for generations, chaos erupts. Elder and Amy try to regain control of the mayhem, but is seems what they’ve feared before is becoming a reality…

When Elder learns the shocking truth about Godspeed, he and Amy must work together to find the truth behind the never-ending mountain of lies and solve the puzzle that was created hundreds of years earlier. But will finding out the truth bring Elder and Amy closer together or tear them apart? One way or another, they must get off the ship…

I really enjoyed reading A Million Suns. I actually liked it better than Across the Universe because I found it exciting from the very beginning and it kept me hooked for the entire book. I feel like both Amy and Elder have grown and developed more in this book. I no longer felt like Amy was the poor, helpless girl from earth. Amy had become a stronger person and I really liked that. I loved seeing Elder trying to cope with his newly acclaimed role of Eldest (although he doesn’t take the title) and desperately trying to keep the whole ship from falling apart both emotionally and physically. I found this book very fast-paced. It felt like Elder and Amy were constantly chasing clues and solving mysteries, which made me want to keep reading. I couldn’t take my eyes off the pages! I really liked how there were again so many twists in the plot and I loved how this book ended. A Million Suns kept me guessing what would happen right until the very last page and I enjoyed every moment of reading it. I’d give A Million Suns by Beth Revis a score of 8.5 out of 10. I can’t wait to read the next book… I need to know what happens next!
