Spirit Bound – book review

Spirit Bound

Spirit Bound is the fifth attention-grabbing book in the Vampire Academy series written by Richelle Mead.

After Rose’s journey to find Dimitri in Siberia, Rose is now safely back at the St. Vladimir’s academy and planning her and Lissa’s future. Their graduation is so close and everything seems like it’s going to be okay as long as Rose can forget about Dimitri. But Rose’s heart still yearns for Dimitri. She knows he’s out there… somewhere… waiting…

Rose has failed killing Dimitri the first time when she had the opportunity to, and now Dimitri is dead-set on hunting down Rose. Dimitri feels the world isn’t big enough for the two of them, and if Rose won’t turn Strigoi to be with him, then he must kill her.

But Rose has a plan. An insanely crazy plan. What if she could bring back the Strigoi from being undead? And she’s focusing on one Strigoi in particular… Dimitri. Rose and her friends must run away in search of answers to healing the Strigoi. Only, the one with all the answers is an enemy. Will Rose and Lissa risk their lives by seeking help from their nemesis? Or will Rose throw away all hope of getting her beloved Dimitri back?

But it seems that bringing back a Strigoi is harder than Rose could ever have imagined. It means putting her friends’ lives at stake. Rose wants Dimitri back, but will it be worth putting her friends in danger? In the end, who will Rose chose?

This was possibly the most heart breaking book I’ve ever read. With Dimitri a Strigoi, and then Rose trying to save him… wow. And then when Dimitri said those nine words at the end of the book to Rose… I just couldn’t believe it! I really loved the journey Rose and her friends went on during this book and I couldn’t take my eyes off the page! Well, sometimes I needed to put the book down and take a break from reading it because it was just so intense! If I kept reading it I’d probably have an emotional breakdown and start crying or screaming depending on what was happening. Dimitri broke my heart in Blood Promise and in this book it wasn’t any easier. I loved how Rose and Lissa worked so well together. They would both do anything for each other and trusted each other with their lives. I cannot believe how amazing Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead is, and I’d give it a score of 9 out of 10. I really hope things work out for Rose in the next book, Last Sacrifice!
